Una nuova potenza offensiva è pronta a muovere i primi passi in Europa. Si tratta di Beck Freeman, attaccante versatile proveniente dal Montana, Stati Uniti.

Alumnae della Concordia University in Nebraska (CUNE), Freeman è stata selezionata nella recente “International Combine” in Texas grazie alla collaborazione e partnership tra l’agenzia calcistica Women’s Football Management (WFM), Soccer Performance International (SPI) e la Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL), la più grande lega di calcio femminile al mondo.

Freeman ha conseguito una laurea in biologia alla CUNE e allo stesso tempo ha giocato i suoi quattro anni di college con i Bulldogs, squadra dell’università. Nel suo Freshman year ha realizzato 10 goal in 11 partite, mentre nel Junior year vanta di 7 goal e 4 assist in 21 partite, di cui due reti sono state decisive per regalare la vittoria alla squadra.

È molto facile andare d’accordo con Freeman che si definisce una giocatrice molto socievole, energetica ed avventurosa. È consapevole che il duro lavoro ripaga e mette sempre il 110% in tutto ciò che fa!

Le abbiamo fatto qualche domanda, sull’esperienza che vuole fare in Europa. Ecco cosa ci ha raccontato:

Cosa ti piace di più del calcio europeo?
Mi piace che ci sono tante opportunità in Europa, soprattutto per il calcio femminile. Le squadre europee si concentrano sul lavoro di squadra e vogliono che le atlete riescano ad ottenere il massimo successo dai risultati che raggiungono. Negli Stati Uniti, invece, sento che per crescere ed avere successo devi solo avere un grande nome e conoscere molte persone. Anche solo per essere considerata da qualcuno. La concorrenza è esagerata. L’Europa invece adesso, offre molte più opportunità.

Cosa ne pensi della partnership WFM-SPI-WPSL?
È una grande idea di una partnership che permette davvero alle atlete di mettere la testa fuori dal Paese con una certa tranquillità e sicurezza. Questa partnership aiuta a costruire un ponte solido tra il calcio pro, semi-pro e universitario americano con il professionismo nelle leghe europee. È un’eccellente opportunità per diventare una giocatrice molto più completa perché spero di potere imparare tanto dal football europeo completando ciò che ho imparato giovando a ‘soccer’ negli USA.

Come vedi il futuro del calcio femminile?
Noto che il calcio femminile continua a crescere. Sta diventando sempre più popolare negli Stati Uniti e nel resto del mondo, e sta diventando sempre più rispettato anche nelle comunità più piccole. Con la crescente popolarità, prevedo che il futuro del calcio femminile sarà grande quanto quello maschile. Il calcio femminile statunitense è diventato una superpotenza per portare più attenzione al gioco e penso che aiuterà a espandersi in altri paesi per altri successi in arrivo.

A new offensive power is ready to take her first steps in Europe. We are talking about Beck Freeman, a versatile striker from Kansas City (MO).

Alumnae of Concordia University in Nebraska (CUNE), Freeman was selected in the recent “International Combine” in Texas thanks to the collaboration and partnership between the agency Women’s Football Management (WFM), Soccer Performance International (SPI) and the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL), the largest women’s soccer league in the world.

Freeman earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from CUNE while she spent her four years of college playing for the Bulldogs. In her Freshman year she scored 10 goals in 11 games, while in Junior year she boasts of 7 goals and 4 assists in 21 games, of which 2 goals gave the team victory.

It’s very easy to get along with Freeman who describes herself as a very sociable, energetic and adventurous person. She is aware that hard work pays off and always puts 110% into everything she does!

We asked her a few questions, here’s what she told us:

What do you like the most of European soccer?
I like how much opportunity there is in Europe, especially for the female aspect of it. European teams focus on teamwork and want their players to succeed. I feel as though in order to succeed in the US you really have to have a big name and know a lot of people just for someone to consider looking at you. Europe has a lot of diversity and opportunity.  

What do you think of the WFM-SPI-WPSL partnership?
It’s a great idea of a partnership that really allows athletes to get their foot in the door. This partnership helps build a bridge from college soccer to starting to play as a career, it’s an excellent opportunity to become a much more diverse player to see how the game is played not only in the US but in all European countries.

How do you see the future of female soccer?
I see women’s soccer continuing to grow. It is becoming more and more popular in the United States as well as the rest of the world, and it is becoming more respected in those communities as well. With the growing popularity I see the future for women’s soccer to be as big as the men’s.  The US women’s soccer has become a superpower to bring more attention to the game and I think it’ll help branch off in other countries for more uprisings to come.
