Finiti i sedicesimi, il Benfica  è costretto a salutare l’UWCL. L’urna di Nyon era stata poco clemente con le portoghesi che hanno pescato il Chelsea, campione in carica della FA Women’s Super League. Le aquile sono cadute ai sedicesimi della Women’s Champions League dopo aver perso contro le londinesi in entrambe le gare con uno score totale di 8-0.

L’andata ha visto  il Benfica ospitare le inglese a Lisbona il 9 dicembre. La partita è finita 0-5 concedendo alle Blues una seria ipoteca sul passaggio del turno. L’esperienza e il potere britannico è stato superiore al cuore ed alla volontà delle debuttanti.

La seconda partita si è svolta a Londra il 16 dicembre e il Chelsea ha avuto di nuovo la meglio con un rotondo 3-0. Nonostante la sconfitta, nulla cancella il percorso fatto nella competizione con una dimostrazione di talento e potenza del calcio femminile in Portogallo.

After the round of 32, Benfica are forced to say goodbye to the UWCL. The urn of Nyon was not very lenient with the portuguese who picked Chelsea, defending champion of the FA Women Super League. The Eagles fell in the Round of 32 of the Women’s Champions League after losing to London citizens in both games with a total score of 8-0.

First leg saw Benfica host the english in Lisbon on 9 December. The game ended 0-5 giving the Blues a serious mortgage on the passage of the turn. British experience and power was superior to the hearts and wills of the novices.

The second match took place in London on 16 December and Chelsea had the upper hand again with a 3-0 round. Despite the defeat, nothing cancels the path made in the competition thanks to a demonstration of the talent and power of women’s football in Portugal.
