La giocatrice del Barcellona e della Nazionale Femminile della Spagna, Alexia Putellas, si aggiudica il premio della 13a edizione dei Dubai Globe Soccer Awards, evento annuale che premia i campioni del calcio internazionale di tutto il mondo che si sono distinti sia dentro che fuori dal campo nella passata stagione.
Un anno straordinario quello di Putellas che ha vinto campionato e coppa con il Barcellona, è arrivata in finale di UEFA Women’s Champions League, ed inoltre è recente vincitrice del secondo Ballon d’Or. Anche questo Globe Soccer award è il secondo (e consecutivo) per la spagnola.
In finale per il Best Women’s Player of the Year sono arrivate anche Beth Mead (Arsenal & Inghilterra) e Linda Caicedo (Deportivo Cali & Colombia). Invece, il Lione si aggiudica il premio Best Women’s Club of the Year.
I candidati sono stati selezionati attraverso una fase iniziale in cui hanno i fan di tutto il mondo, contribuendo così all’eventuale decisione sui vincitori finali. Successivamente una giuria decreterà il vincitore per ogni categoria.
